Turning 50

As I've mentioned in a few posts, I am turning 50 on Tuesday (Dec. 11). I'm spending my big day in Disneyland, pretending I'm a child!

As I've been reflecting on this big moment in my life I thought I would share the 50 best things about turning 50:

We'll help you think of things:
1) When you're 50, you get away with a lot more!
2) When you're 50, you know that you've made it this far so you're willing to try all sorts of cool stuff such as:
running first marathon (you've already done that one, so moving along.....)
getting a motorcycle license
white water rafting
traveling in dangerous places
3) The next 50 years are much more fun because maybe you'll have grandkids!
Hope that helps get you started on 50 great ways to celebrate 50!!!!

Hey Tim, do you know what I worry about most in terms of you getting really, really old? It seems as if you are beginning to make poor choices: Of all things you picked the season in which the Cardinals will make the playoffs to get rid of your tickets!

Other than that I think you should be fine. If I may say so I think you look more like 47 oder 48, not 50.

Simon,

Giving up my Cards tickets is one of the best decisions I've made in 50 years. I no longer rush from church to the games. I no longer drive home from games angry at having wasted yet more money on this team. I can turn the game off when it's disgusting (i.e., San Francisco), and when they are winning, which, admittedly they've done more this year than last, I can see the game in living color in the comfort of my living room. All in all, perhaps I have learned something in 50 years.
