Simply Living, Part 1

It's been awhile since I've checked in. I've been doing so much writing for various Grace communications that I seem to have nothing left for the blog.

So I've decided, at least in part, to post some of the things I'm sending out to our congregation concerning out Lenten experience: 40 Days of Simply Living.

Here are some of the things that come to mind for me when I think about living more simply:

• Simple living is living in the awareness of God’s grace
• Simple living is living in the awareness of God’s provision and love
• Simple living is learning to enjoy what we have
• Simple living is living missionally--Living our lives, using our resources, to carry out the priorities of Jesus:
Caring for our neighbors wherever they are
Caring for the planet
• Simple living is a gift from Jesus that leads to a full, rich, abundant life
